To ensure that all customers can use their colocation smoothly, there are some rules in the data center that we would like to point out to you here.
General rules for Colocation:
- Only 19-inch devices may be installed.
- Installed devices must comply with VDE standards.
- Fire protection regulations must be observed.
- Only certified power strips may be used.
- Cascading socket strips is not permitted due to the risk of fire.
- Flammable materials such as paper, film, and packaging material must not be stored in the rack.
- Connections between racks and cages may only be made by 23M employees.
- Hardware must not be stored in the rack, except for drives, etc. in small quantities (maximum 2-3 pieces).
- Since the front of the racks leads to the cold aisle, air flow from front to back must be ensured.
- Empty rack units must be closed with blanking panels.
Additional rules for 1/2 Racks:
- The PDU should not be longer than 90 cm if it is to be installed vertically.
Additional rules for 1/4 Racks:
- The PDU should not be longer than 45 cm if it is to be installed vertically.
Additional rules for shared Racks:
- Network devices (switch, router, firewall) may not be installed.
- Generally, no hardware storage is allowed in the shared rack.
- Power strips may not be used; only the specified power ports are allowed.
- Only one device may be placed per rack unit.
- Rack units of other customers must not be blocked.
